A Space to Feel Comfortable
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and the environment you're walking into matters. My face-to-face sessions take place in a private counselling room within Wilberfoss Community Centre.
It offers a space away from home, work and everyday responsibilities where the focus can be entirely on you for 50 minutes.
Being able to see the space before your first appointment can also take away some of the uncertainty of coming somewhere new.

What to Expect
Going somewhere new for the first time can feel a little daunting, so I want you to know what to expect before you arrive.
At the time of your appointment, I'll meet you just inside the entrance to Wilberfoss Community Centre and we'll head to the counselling room together.
During your first session, we'll take some time to go through the counselling agreement, including confidentiality and how our sessions will work. We'll also begin getting to know each other and talk a little about what has brought you to therapy.

Why Choose Face-to-Face Therapy?
Some people simply feel more comfortable being in the same room as their therapist. You might value having somewhere separate from home, find it easier to connect without a screen, or appreciate having some time before and after your session to process.
There isn't a “better” way to do therapy. Face-to-face and online sessions simply offer different experiences, and what matters is finding the environment that feels right for you.
A Dedicated Space
A regular time and place that's separate from work, home and everyday responsibilities.
In-Person Connection
For those who feel more comfortable talking and connecting when we're physically in the same room.
Space Around the Session
The journey to and from therapy can give you time to prepare beforehand and decompress afterwards.
